Following a successful season which saw Leeds finish in 3rd place, Bielsa will be staying at Elland Road for the following campaign.

He has made it clear that the squad he has currently, are not good enough to reach the heights that they did this season, with form taking a noticeable dip in the crucial moments.

Bielsa intends on getting the signings complete as soon as possible, to ensuring the newcomers experience a full and proper pre-season under the Argentine.

Bielsa has revealed the positions he would like to strengthen for the 19/20 season.

Midfield – Following the departure of an in-form Saiz, Bielsa is interested in signing a replacement. He has requested a direct, advanced Midfielder who is of first-team quality. The big name that has been linked is Aaron Mooy according to FTBL.

Mooy collected 3 goals and 1 assist last season over 25 appearances – stats which are far from prolific. Huddersfield have put a £15-million price tag on their key man, meaning if they don’t agree to lower it significantly, Leeds will drop their interest.

Another name which has been linked with a move to Leeds United is the Newcastle player, Jonjo Shelvey. Following an unsuccessful run at Newcastle United in the Premier League, a drop back down to the Championship is imminent, whether that is to Leeds United or not is a question that remains to be seen.

Wingers – It is clear that Leeds United had fallen short of automatic promotion due to their lack of efficiency in front of goal. The lack of quality service has contributed massively to this, with Jack Harrison struggling for form for huge chunks in the season.

Leeds will re-visit Daniel James, but a deal looks less and less likely every day, with Swansea’s valuation being at £15-million and Premier League clubs snooping.

Bielsa has expressed his feelings on the situation and has come to the acceptance that next season will be spent without Daniel James, however, Bielsa does want two Wingers to be brought in for the 19/20 season.

The two Wingers that he wants to be brought to the club must be first team quality and good enough to start week in week out.

The attributes he has given are that the wingers must be quick and prolific in front of goal. No names have been linked as of yet.
