Jamal Lowe is a winger, 24, who plays for Portsmouth in League 1. He has also been linked with the likes of Boro, West Brom and Forest, along with the Whites, according to Sky Sports. Since the start of the season, Lowe has had 26 appearances for Portsmouth, scoring 10 goals.
Since the loss of Saiz, and Pablo dropping into the number 10 role, the depth on the wing is something which Marcelo Bielsa is looking to strengthen, with links to Jarrod Bowen and Ibai Gomez last month. However, with Hull not willing to sell Bowen for a reasonable price, and the Gomez deal seemingly becoming less likely to go through, Lowe is the new target for Leeds United’s director of football, Victor Orta.
Pompey are unlikely to demand a huge amount of cash for the 24-year-old and his eye for goal is something that can be a serious threat for Leeds United out on the wings.
However, with lots of other Championship sides also being linked with Lowe, it means that his price is set to inflate, especially if the circumstance results in a bidding war amongst all 4 promotion contenders.
In total, he has scored 23 goals in 93 appearances for the current League One leaders, finding the form of his career this season.
With Leeds United being managed by such a renowned coach like Marcelo Bielsa, this must be a major pull factor for Jamal Lowe, who will look to develop his career, and skills in the Championship.
Leeds United are also strongly linked with Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow, and are set to make an offer very soon. More to follow.
