After bagging a beauty on his international debut and putting in consistent quality performances for Swansea City, Leeds United fans have voiced their concern of the ever-growing value of Bielsa’s number 1 target, Daniel James.

The chances of Leeds United signing Daniel James in the summer, will likely rely on promotion to the Premier League. This is because the player’s intent is to play regular first team football in England’s top division.

Marcelo Bielsa has made his intentions to revisit the player come the summer transfer window, with Daniel James claiming to be open to communications with Leeds United.

Daniel James was very ‘excited’ about the idea of a move to Leeds United in January and being Bielsa’s only major target following the signing of Kiko Casilla, must have been flattering for the Welshman.

On January 31’st, it was reported that Daniel James had told Swansea that if they refused to let him leave to Leeds United, he would not sign a new deal with them. It seems as though this is a promise which he intends on keeping, with contract negotiations with the Swans being unsuccessful this far.

Daniel James’ representatives have demanded a £4-million buyout clause to be added to a new contracted if it is agreed with Swansea, coincidentally being the same amount that Leeds were willing to sign the Welshman for back in the January transfer window.

If Swansea do not agree to the buy-out clause, it is likely that Leeds United could score the prodigy on a free deal, assuming he is still as excited for the move.

It seems as though the people responsible for the signing are confident we will sign the international prodigy in the summer, assuming we’re in the Premier League, regardless of contract negotiations with Swansea.
